The SoulBond Code is the creation of fellow JFWer Azusa Kuraino, who has kindly given me permission to put it up here. Note that this is an incomplete version and subject to change. Please direct all questions, comments, suggestions e.t.c. to Azusa, not me!
Okay. After seeing the prevalence of various "codes" online-- the Geek Code, the Goth Code, the Furry Code, etc., and how lots of fandoms have initiated
their own codes, I decided it might be helpful to make up one for SBers as
well.
The SBers' Code was inspired by seeing the Multiple Code
(http://disenchantedforest.com/code/) and thinking that-- since, at least in
my opinion, the two phenomena are very closely related-- it would be
incredibly useful to tailor something like that specifically for SBers. (For
the record, while I have a Multiple Code, I thought an SBCode would be more
specifically useful for the people I usually speak with online.)
Since this is still in its beta version, I'm actively taking suggestions and
contributions.

G (bF sM/F+&/A^)

fan-created game character from an alternate universe, and a character of

~- The Bonder's conception of this species is extremely different from the
"common" idea
&- cross between two species
#- The Bonder saself identifies primarily as this species (if not human)
Any of these tags can be elaborated on by putting the specific species in
parentheses.
For example:
Sp.H+/S/Dr~/An(Cat)/H&F
This person has several humans, a spirit creature, a dragon who is
substantially different from the "typical" idea of a dragon, an animal
specified to be a cat, and a human-fairy mix.
Involvement of SBs in the Bonder's daily life:
i--- They're just /there/. You don't communicate with them or interact with
them.
i-- Rarely if ever communicate with the Bonder; make themselves manifest only
during situations which directly involve them.
i- Present at times, but are more of a "background noise" than anything.
i Talk more to each other than to you.
i+ Present most of the time, but rarely talk to you; occasionally influence
your body language, behavior, mannerisms, etc.
i++ Present most of the time and talk to you often; friends ask why you just
burst out laughing for no apparent reason.
i+++ /Never/ shut up; have a big influence on your "outside" self, even to
the point of having body control at times.
Opinion of Self-Insertion:
SI--- Anyone even suspected of having a self-insertion character will be
brutally maimed if they enter my vincinity.
SI-- Won't write it, won't read it, find it obnoxious, but it's not worthy of
punishment.
SI- Wouldn't write it personally, but it's other people's choice if they
choose to.
SI Don't mind it every once in a while as long as it's well-done.
SI+ I like self-insertion fics as long as they aren't TOO obnoxious.
SI++ I like reading it and I write it from time to time. Hey, we all gotta
dream.
SI+++ Just call me Mary Sue/Marty Sam!
Modifiers:
# Former/reformed self-insertion author
Opinion of Roleplaying:
R--- Wouldn't even consider it.
R-- I'm not really into it, though I'm not totally averse to the idea.
R- I've tried it before, but it's not generally my thing.
R I roleplay from time to time.
R+ Love it and look forward to it.
R++ It's a major part of my life and I have regularly scheduled
campaigns/sessions.
R+++ Real life? That's one of those urban legends, isn't it?
R? Never tried it; wouldn't know.
Sociability of SBs (or lack thereof):
S--- It's against my rules/principles to let them talk at all.
S-- They never talk to others outside my head of their own will, though I'd
let them if they ever felt so inclined.
S- Only speak up when a conversation directly involves them.
S Chat with people outside the head from time to time.
S+ They butt into my conversations on a regular basis.
S++ They spend as much time talking to my friends and their SBs as their
Bonder does.
S+++ Most people don't even know who the Bonder is!
Art:
A-- No artistic skill whatsoever.
A- I doodle from time to time, but nothing serious.
A I do art of my characters, but I'm not all that proud of it.
A+ I draw frequently and post work online.
A++ Drawing is the ONLY thing I do.
Writing:
W-- Hukd on fonix wurkd for me!
W- I make up stories, but I never get around to writing them.
W I dabble in it from time to time.
W+ I enjoy writing, although it's not a major part of my life.
W++ I'm well on my way to carpal tunnel syndrome, if I don't have it already.
If you're ambiguous about something, you can divide two different tags with a
slash (for example, R/R+). If you feel something doesn't apply to you, just
leave it out.
Oh, for the record, mine is:
SBC N? G (bF* sM+&/F+/N^) O.cS+ eA+/Af/Taf/V+/Vf/#+/? Sp.H+/H^/Hm/S/Su+/Dr+/?
i+++ SI- R+ S+ A W+/++
